There are 5 different attributes, which are: Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, Perception, and Charisma.
Each attribute reaches its full potential at 20.
Below is a description of how each attribute affects your characters:
Strength : Dictates damage dealt with weapons/fists. Also used to figure out if a "bully" attempt was successful.
Dexterity : Used to work out if an attack in combat hits. Also used to figure out if a "flee" attempt is successful.
Intelligenc e: Used in " recruitment" attempts. The higher the number the better the chance you have of recruiting them.
Charisma: Used in "trade" attempts. The higher the number the better the chance of getting "good" trades with NPCs.
Perception: Used when searching locations and dictates your chance of item discovery.
These attributes can be increased in different ways.
Strength: Increased by using the punchbag as well as winning fights.
Dexterity: Increased by using the punchbag as well as winning fights.
Intelligence: Increased by crafting, fixing, or upgrading items. Can be increased if recruiting is successful. Also raised by reading books (adults) and by playing with toys (kids).
Charisma: Can be increased while trading. Books and toys also raise charisma somewhat.
Perception: Increased by going out in expeditions and 'examining' different locations. Each location is about 20 XP. You receive the accumulation of this XP when you return to the shelter.
